This intermediate Spanish course builds on the skills acquired in Spanish-Foundations, guiding students toward greater proficiency in an interactive and supportive setting. Students continue developing broad vocabulary, grammar and cultural knowledge, and apply it through a widening variety of communicative activities that strengthen understanding and confidence in both formal and informal contexts. Students expand their ability to express themselves about personal experiences, emotions, opinions, and broader topics, while deepening their knowledge of Spanish-speaking regions and cultures through accessible materials such as songs, videos, news articles, and cultural readings that explore everyday life and contemporary issues. The course emphasizes the interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes, encouraging students to make connections between the Hispanic world and the United States, as well as between Spanish and their own personal or academic interests, while advancing listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.
