For Class of 2013 alum Rebecca Gellman, Stanford Online High School set the course for her academic journey. Largely inspired by her advanced Biology classes taught by Dr. Kim Failor, Rebecca has defended her thesis to earn a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Microbiology and Immunology.

"One thing I really like about Stanford OHS is the flexibility and predictability built into my schedule. Stanford OHS is a flipped classroom model – similar to a university schedule – where classes meet two times/week (three hours total). If you do the math, this leaves a lot of flexible time. Notice I said flexible, not free. Stanford OHS classes fill up much of this time because students are expected to learn the material independently and come to class prepared for high-level discussions." - William O., Stanford OHS ninth grader

In March, Mrs. Harmon, Mrs. Johnson, and Dr. Nuckols from the Stanford OHS Counseling Office traveled to Athens, Greece to attend the 2024 International School Counseling Association (ISCA) conference.

How do we honor traditions and push the boundaries of what is possible in a global community? These were the questions I asked myself as I journeyed to Boston for Homecoming 2024.

Hello everyone! I am Lester W., and this is my 5th year at Stanford OHS. As both a senior and a competitive swimmer, balancing these roles has been a challenging, yet rewarding journey that has transformed my daily life.

As part of an alternative midterm assessment, students in Dr. Vetter's class created a Google slide describing the cell organelle or structure of their choice. Students researched detailed electron micrograph images of their chosen structure, and described its function, including pertinent metabolic processes. 

Students around the world may apply now to take an innovative combined Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra course online and learn Stanford University-Level math.

Just like lightning, inspiration can strike at any time. For class of 2016 alum Jake Chasan, it was during the first class he took at Stanford Online High School 12 years ago, Introduction to C Programming. Now a successful Investor at Sapphire Ventures in Menlo Park, Calif., Jake credits Stanford OHS for launching his career trajectory during his freshman year.

Hello Pixels! My name is Piper, I am a freshman, and this is my third year at Stanford OHS. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided that instead of returning to my old brick-and-mortar school, I wanted to take my schooling into my own hands. This led to my family finding Stanford OHS.
