About Me
Hello I’m Anay, I’m a sophomore, and I live in India. I love painting, reading, cooking, and learning new languages! Recently, I’ve also picked up an interest in programming, and I want to continue by studying AI development and Natural Language Processing (NLP) in relation to machine learning in the future. I’m also learning how to play badminton right now — very taxing, but it’s fun! In terms of reading, I like fantasy and sci-fi in fiction, and I also love to read about my favorite subjects, which are art, history, languages, and zoology. Right now, I’m learning French outside of Stanford OHS, and next year I’m planning to take Latin at Stanford OHS.
Why I Chose Stanford OHS
I used to live in Chicago until two years ago when I moved to India — that was one of the main reasons for choosing Stanford OHS at first. I wanted to continue studying in an American curriculum instead of going to an Indian school here as I felt that the culture, way of studying, and the subjects were all too different for me to adjust quickly. I also chose Stanford OHS because of the fact that you can choose your courses based on your knowledge level, and that meant I could advanced and college-level equivalent courses by the time I’m in junior or senior year. That was very appealing to me. Academically, Stanford OHS has helped me develop a lot inside and even outside of school in finding my interests, and helping to provide opportunities for growth.
What I Love About Stanford OHS
Something I find unique about this school is that you can take advanced courses regardless of your grade level. I also love how the curriculum is rigorous, how class discussions are often very complex (in a good way) and nuanced but also fun. A lot of Stanford OHS classes delve deeper into specific subjects than most regular high school courses do.
