About Me
I’m a 15-year old part-time sophomore based out of Boulder, Colorado, where I live with my parents, brother, sister, and dog. Entrepreneurship is a big passion of mine, which comes with big dreams to buy a business before I graduate high school. I also hope to study Neuroscience. Outside of school, I love staying active with tennis, Nordic skiing, and Crossfit training with my mom and sister. I’m also working on publishing my third novel.
What I Love About Stanford OHS
I love Stanford OHS’s unique academic environment. It’s the perfect place for students who are looking for a real challenge and who love learning, but who also want to enjoy their high school experience. The wide variety of classes means there’s a fit for almost every student, no matter their passion. Regardless of the class, you can always expect the coursework to be engaging, useful, and mentally stimulating, and a kind, supportive instructor who is well-qualified and excited to teach the material.
Stanford OHS also has unique tutoring programs, so there is always someone to help you get through academic challenges. While my experience with other schools sometimes made me feel like I wasn’t getting any closer to achieving my dreams, my education at Stanford OHS has opened doors I never thought existed. Applying has turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made. Stanford OHS is not just an extra challenge to me – it’s a place where I have been able to chase my dreams and connect with like-minded peers, and I’ve grown so much from this experience. I’m so thankful to have this opportunity, and I’m very excited to support incoming students throughout their journeys at this school.
Why I Chose Stanford OHS
I applied to Stanford OHS on a whim, after my aunt mentioned it to me in passing. I have been homeschooled nearly all my life, but the program I attended to supplement my education had never felt like I was on the right path towards the education I wanted: there was little academic challenge, and the school culture wasn’t the right fit for me. When I heard about Stanford OHS, I immediately latched onto the idea of a more challenging environment which would allow me to get the education I wanted, and I poured my heart into my application. As of now, I am a part-time student, and I use the coursework here to supplement the education I get from being homeschooled.
Although I don’t plan to graduate from Stanford OHS, being a student here has allowed me to pursue a level of education I otherwise might never have pursued, and achieve levels of excellence that I otherwise might never have achieved. Since I am a part-time student, I’m able to focus on entrepreneurship outside of school, something that would probably not have been possible had I followed a more traditional path at a brick and mortar school. Being a student here has truly allowed me to get so much closer to realizing my dreams.
