About Me
I’m an entrepreneurial student with a passion for researching and applying behavioral economics. Through my rapidly growing business, I am making a large impact in my community while also creating a model that can be scaled nationwide. I also play competitive tennis, love traveling with friends and family, and enjoying time with my dog!
Why I Chose Stanford OHS
Like many students interested in Stanford OHS, I was seeking academic rigor. I am happiest when I am challenged, fulfilled when I am learning at a fast pace, and OHS has proved to be an excellent fit to provide the learning environment I desired. Starting in elementary school, I would supplement my public school education with programs from Duke Tips, Northwestern CTD, and Johns Hopkins CTY. This worked, but it always felt I was piecing my education together. When I learned Stanford OHS could meet all of my educational needs and provide a community of like-minded students, it seemed like an excellent fit. I tried one course as a 7th grader and since then, have been happily enrolled full-time.
What I Love About Stanford OHS
I love many things about Stanford OHS. First off, I enjoy the excellent courses. The pace is quick, the courses are challenging, and the teachers are engaging and accessible. And with my smart classmates, I learn a great deal from them as well through the active participation that takes places in each of my courses. The classes are tough, but really rewarding. I love the placement process too to ensure I’m in the best fit course!
In addition, Stanford OHS has a wonderful community. While I was a little nervous initially about attending an online school, it has been amazing to see how friendships can develop online and how cool it is to then see each other in person at the various Stanford OHS events. It has worked much better than I expected actually and it’s been fun making friends from many different geographies! One thing that makes Stanford OHS particularly unique is the flexibility that it provides. The Stanford OHS format is incredibly helpful to balance academics with my extracurriculars. I feel this has almost no wasted time, something I value as I’m active in multiple areas. I’ve found I can customize my schedule in a way that is highly efficient, balancing academics with my other interests with very little wasted time.
